From the 17th until the 21st of September 2012 the first edition of the Fashion Week 2.0 took place in shopping center La Cañada, Marbella and ended with a closing fashion show last Friday night in the Automobile Museum in Málaga City. This event was organized by La opinión de Malaga.
Preceding the Fashion Week 2.0, 8 models were chosen from a local model contest to join the Fashion Week and make their first steps in the model business. The nominated models: Dalai Kim Alcázar from Nerja, Alvara Manuel García Narváez from Fuengirola, Elizabeth González from Estepona, Razvan Rosu from Mijas-Costa, Juan Manuel Conzalez from Alhaurín de la Torre, Fatima Ndiaye Bouzid from Torremolinos, Jessica Jiménez Rodriguez from Torremolinos and Francisco José Rodriguez Serrano, as well from Torremolinos.
From Monday to Thursday there were several fashion shows in La Cañada shopping center, with models voted via internet, and models of the model agency Manuel Beltran from Malaga. The shows spotted labels like Levis, Diesel, Custo Barcelona, Victoria Luxury, Desigual, Almatrichi, Hugo Boss, Caramelo and BCGBMAXAZRIA. – just to name a few.
On Friday night invited guests could join a show about the different fashion periods, from the 20′s until the 60′s. The show consisted of 5 parts - “The birth of haute couture”, – “The elegance of the post-war period”, “The cocktail dress, icon of the 50′s”, “London in the 60′s until the end of the century”, and “The glamour of Haute Couture “; offering the 250 invited guests a historical fashion trip throughout the last century.
The closing show from the Fashion Weel 2.0 Costa del Sol did not leave anything out: from reviving the spirit of Coco Chanel in the 20s, over the Charleston style inspired by the Charleston music up to the influence of Jackie Kennedy in the 60′s and of course Haute Couture as well the New Look created by Dior. Every part of the show was accompanied by period music and featured fashion icons on a screen.
All this, in combination with the breath-taking atmosphere in the Automobile Museum made this show into a unique event on the Costa del Sol.
At the end of the night the 8 local new models received their certifications and awards from the town councils of the province of Malaga. Of course the ambassador of 2.0 Fashion Week, Olivia Valere, joined this final show; we also spotted Angel Palazuelos, Haute Couture designer from Malaga.
Congratulations to the organisers of this special event at the Costa del Sol – we are already looking forward to the second edition next year.
A big thank-you to Carmen Rico from the Automobile Museum Malaga for inviting us.
